Performance & Talkback with Paige Cunningham Caldarella & Alfonso Cervera

from $7.00

On Saturday, April 26th join us for an exclusive studio performance & talkback at 7pm. Your ticket gets you access into this intimate experience and refreshments.

Paige Caldarella and Alfonso Cervera will revisit their 2024 collaborative duet, entitled Ponzy Scheme. This work emerged from a shared desire to get in the studio and move together, where weekly rehearsals evolved into a meaningful and cathartic ritual of movement and conversation. During those early studio sessions, we not only exchanged movement ideas but also stories about our various dance histories and dance training lineages. Our collaborative choreographic methodology honors and incorporates the unique specialties that each of us brings onto the dance floor, drawing from various movement influences, including Ballet Folklorico, Release Technique, ballet, and the Merce Cunningham Technique. This blend of movement material allows for the coexistence of our varied dance histories to exist simultaneously within the work. Throughout the upcoming residency week, we will reflect on and refine existing material while potentially discarding elements that no longer serve us. Ponzy Scheme is intended to be experimental, capturing aspects of our rehearsal process and conversations, while highlighting our individual contributions through collaborative exchange and physical dialogue.

Event Highlights:

Two Dancers. One Electric Connection. Witness the raw, real-time chemistry between Cervera and Caldarella as they revisit their critically-acclaimed duet.

A Bold Fusion of Styles. From Ballet Folklorico to Merce Cunningham Technique, this piece blends tradition and experimentation into something wholly unexpected.

Choreography Meets Conversation. Ponzy Scheme isn’t just a performance—it’s a living, breathing dialogue told through movement, ritual, and risk.

Unfiltered. Unfinished. Unmissable. Be part of a moment that’s still evolving—where what happens on stage reflects the artists' current questions, not just their answers.

Talkback. Join us for an intimate dialogue with Calderalla & Cervera after the performance. This is your chance to gain deeper insights by asking questions, sharing your thoughts, and understanding the creative process behind their work

This event is not to be missed. Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to share in the magic and support the arts in our community.
