A Dreamers Mosaic

Thanks to a grant from Carbondale Arts, Riven Badgett created a project that turned into a one of a kind performance surrounding the theme: what it means to be human. For two months local dancers and musicians collaborated together to create an entire show. Every person in the performance took an active role in creating the world that will lead the audience through different emotions tied directly to the artist's own experiences.

During this night of artistry, original live music will be played in person along with brand new choreography. Both the music and dance all explore different genres, bending traditional pairings. After the show there will be a potluck, allowing for reflection and communal celebration, so please bring a favorite dish to share.

About Riven

Riven Badgett has been pursuing dance and interdisciplinary arts throughout her life. After going to Denver School of the Arts for dance in high school, she received her BFA in Dance at Berea College. During her time in college she choreographed two pieces for Kinetic Expressions, a piece for Berea Dances, along with numerous lead roles in other dances. With technique in ballet, modern, hip hop, and fusion partner dancing she loves combining and exploring these different modalities in her choreography. Since moving back to Colorado she has participated in the Larger Than They Appear showcases along with teaching an independent dance class. Going forward she hopes to explore dance through film along with continuing to choreograph and create!
